2017 "The Archimage" Reserve Bdx Blend Magnum 1500mL
The 2017 Archimage is a blend of 52% Cabernet Franc and 48% Merlot. It was aged for 20 months in 33% new French oak. Our Estate vineyard blocks make up almost the entirety of this incredible wine. It has aromas and flavors of exotic spices, wet earth, anise, a hint of cedar, flowers, and fresh picked herbs, along with black cherries, blueberries, and plums. The terrific acidity keeps this wine fresh through to the long, lingering finish. The tannins are completely integrated and will help this wine age for the next two decades, and perhaps longer!
A split of 52% Cabernet Franc and 48% Merlot that was aged 20 months in one-third new French oak, the 2017 Archimage Reserve Red Blend offers smoking notes of blackberries, cassis, tobacco leaf, graphite, and cedar pencils as well as a touch of foresty, floral notes. Seamless, medium to full-bodied, and brilliantly textured, it's a stunning wine from this estate that will keep for over a decade. 95 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
