2018 "The Archimage" Red Blend 1500mL
The 2016 Archimage had fruit sourced from both Blue Mountain Vineyard (Walla Walla Valley AVA) and Red Mountain Vineyard (Red Mountain AVA). The wine was aged for 20 months in 44% new French oak barrels. 2016 was a warm vintage in Washington, and it left an indelible thumbprint on the final wine. It has a gorgeous, deep purple-red color, with aromas and flavors of warm spices, oolong tea leaves, tobacco leaf, leather, cedar shavings, citrus, plums, and blueberries. Its rich entry is buoyed by terrific acidity, with more blue and black fruits gliding across the long finish. This gorgeous blend should age gracefully over the next two decades.
