The 2020 Spiders from Mars traverses both savory and sweet, with roses and a dusting of exotic spice giving way to dried black cherries. Like pure silk on the palate, this impresses with a stimulating mix of zesty red fruits and liquid stone. Cumin and smoky herbs resonate toward the close. Sweet tannins linger, as wild berries and tangerine slowly fade. The SFM is more refined and classic in feel than the Psychedelic tasted next to it, and with a spicy impression that stays with you.

The 2020 Syrah Spiders From Mars comes from the North Fork of the Walla Walla River in Oregon, and it's 100% Syrah that wasn't destemmed and is still aging in neutral puncheons. It has an exotic bouquet of ripe red and blue fruits as well as violets, crushed stone, and hints of peppery herbs. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has ultra-fine tannins, a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, and a great finish. As with the other releases here, it plays in the more seamless, elegant end of the spectrum.
