2020 "The Illusionist" Cabernet Sauvignon 750mL
This vintage of the Illusionist Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is especially dark and intense, due largely to the tiny crop size (we averaged just under two tons per acre). 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, it was aged for 20 months in 60% new French oak, and has classic notes of pencil lead, blueberries, black currants, tobacco, and plums. The dark fruits are offset by a floral note along with an earthy elegance on the long and persistent finish. This wine will easily age for the next two decades. It’s best served with great food and great friends.

The seriously good 2019 Sleight of Hand ‘The Illusionist Reserve’ Cabernet Sauvignon is another superb release but the winemaking team of Keith Johnson, Trey Busch and Jerry Solomon. Once on the nose this takes on very pretty black florals that combine with tar, leather and blackberry cobbler. Soft and highly approachable upon entry, the wine has silky tannins that frame a core of medium to full-bodied dark fruit flavors with chocolate fudge and roasted date undertones. Drink 2022-2037

Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon yet with 6% Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Illusionist Reserve offers lots of cassis and blue fruits to go with a rich, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, building tannins, and classic Cabernet notes of tobacco and lead pencil. It's already approachable yet has enough tannins to warrant 2-4 years in the cellar.
