2021 "The Crooked Arm" Elevation Vineyard Cab Franc 1500mL

Elevation Vineyard, where we source our Spiders From Mars Syrah and the new Rebel Rebel Roussanne/Marsanne blend, has proven to be an exceptional site for us since we started working with this extreme site in 2016. The Cabernet Franc comes off of a high elevation (1450 feet) terraced block that wraps around a south facing outcrop of mostly fractured basalt with some wind-blown loess deposited on top. The wine shows all the hallmarks of classic Cab Franc, showing perfumed notes of rose petals, tea leaves, lavender, and “garigue” wrapped around a core of gorgeous red and blue fruits. Texturally this wine has terrific weight, with ample tannins that are supported by a solid core of fruit and fresh acids. The wine was raised in neutral French oak for 21 months before bottling. The epitome of Cabernet Franc if there ever was one, you will want to have a couple of these in your cellar for those VERY special occasions and benchmark moments in your life.
