Formerly bottles as "Force of Nature", the 2021 Off He Goes was tasted as a barrel sample and is still firm, mineral and slightly shy on the nose. After some spinning in the glass, the wine opens to a soft nose of blueberries and savory herbs with hints of red and black spices. Medium to full bodied, the wine is tight with a fine mineral tension and succulent and tannic edge before glidging to a more Old World finish. Only 3 barrels were made and I look forward to resampliing this closer to release.

This wonderous Syrah is the winemakers tribute to a departed friend and colleague. It is a fitting tribute filled with blackberry, blueberry fruit, leather, roasted pork shoulder and thyme aromas that build and build. Bluebery gelato, wet slate and orange pipe tobacco flavors bump against massive tannins and lemony acidity. Enjoy 2024-2034.

Another new wine to the lineup, the 2021 "Off He Goes"Syrah is a beautiful tribute to winemaker Eric Dunham of Dunham Cellars fame. Entirely sourced from Les Collines Vineyard, this is exceedingly inky in the glass, showing stony and herbal aromatics that meld well with iron, violets, steak tartare and heady dark fruits. The incredible aromatic range brings you back to the glass for more enjoyment. On the mouth this is soft and inviting with a seamless texture and fantastic underlying sends of verve. Stony, savory, and full of life, enjoy this incredible wine now and over the next 10-plus years to come. Give it an hour of air if consumiing in it's full throttle youth! Drink 2023-2035

Another fantastic wine from the winemakers at Sleight of Hand, this one the 2021 Off He Goes Syrah, that sports a medium blue-purple core with light pink rim and boasts notes of crushed blackberries, mountain blueberreis, cedary herbs, incense, and just a touch of bacon fat. The tannins are perfectly balanced, with a strong spine of acidity and full-bodied finish. Highly recommened. 2024-2034

The 2021 Syrah Off He Goes from Les Collines Vineyard wafts up with mentholated freshness, blending spiced orange peels, dried blueberries and smoked meat hints. It’s soft and soothing on the palate, as silky textures usher in tart wild berry fruits that slowly saturate. The 2021 finishes with youthful tension and edgy tannins, clenching the palate with restraint and lingering licorice notes. Off He Goes was labeled as Force of Nature in past vintages.
