2022 "The Archimage" Reserve Bordeaux Blend 750mL

The 2022 Archimage "Reserve" Bordeaux-blend is 55% Cabernet Franc and 45% Merlot, primarily from our estate Binaural Block at Blue Mtn. Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley and our Estate Block at Red Mtn. Vineyard on Red Mtn. Aged for 20 months in 45% new French oak, it's densely loaded with flavors of red and blue fruits like fresh picked cherries, raspberries, and blueberries, and has gorgeous herbal undertones of green peppercorns and hay. Caramel and cinammon spice come through on the finish, supported by richly structured and well-integrated tannins along with fresh acidity. Our Archmage is always a cellar candidate and should have a 20-25 year life span, but don't be afraid to open and decant this while young, as you will be richly rewarded by this gorgeous Bordeaux-blend. A harmonious blend of 55% Cabernet Franc and 45% Merlot, the 2022 SOFH Archimage Reserve presents a captivating medium to deep purple-ruby core with a subtle bluish rim. The nose opens with vibrant aromas of wild mtn. blueberries, fresh herbs, and hint of blackcurrant, cracked black pepper, and a touch of toasted star anise. On the palate, the wine reveals layers of ripe black fruits complemented by nuances of grilled Meyer lemon and dark chocolate. The full-bodied profile is supported by chewy tannins and moderately high acidity, leading to a long, complex finish.
