2023 "Levitation" Reserve Syrah 750mL - NEW RELEASE!
The 2023 Levitation Syrah is 100% Syrah, sourced from 2 amazing high elevation vineyard sites; Lewis Vineyard (61%), situated at 1270 ft. elevation in the Yakima Valley, and Les Collines Vineyard (39%) which sits at 1215-1280 ft. in the Walla Walla Valley. 23% whole cluster was used, and the wine was aged in a combination of concrete tank and 17% new French oak. Each vineyard site puts its best foot forward with this wine, showing an impenetrable dark violet-purple color that leads to an explosion of primary fruits like freshly picked black cherries, raspberries, and boysenberries. The bright yet concentrated entry is seamless yet powerful. Hints of orange rind come out, while the aromas of fresh herbs, mountain wildflowers, roasted meats and bacon fat highlight the savoriness of this compelling Syrah. This is a candidate for the cellar and will reward you 12-15 years down the road, but if you can’t keep your hands off, you won’t be disappointed! As always, this our Levitation Syrah is best enjoyed with great food, music, and friends. Cheers!

From Lewis and Les Collines Vineyards, the 2023 Levitation Reserve Syrah is brambly in raspberry, with ample dried and fresh herbs and a complex, sinewy texture. Fermented 23% whole cluster and aged 16 months in neutral French oak puncheon and concrete, there's a memorable savory, meaty character from the Lewis site, from which Trey Busch has worked with for a quarter of a century, since his days at Dunham Cellars. Les Collines provides muscle and structure as well as a dark plum and blackberry, then tannins fierce and substantial. Give this full-bodied wine some time. Drink 202-2035
