The 2021 Levitation Syrah is 100% Syrah, sourced from two amazing high elevation vineyard sites; Lewis Vineyard (74%), in the Yakima Valley, and Les Collines Vineyard (26%), in the Walla Walla Valley. The wine has an impenetrable dark violet-purple color that leads to an explosion of primary fruits like freshly picked black cherries, raspberries, and boysenberries. The bright yet concentrated entry shows hints of orange rind and aromas of fresh herbs, roasted meats, and bacon fat. This is a candidate for the cellar and will reward you 12-15 years down the road, but if you can't keep your hands off, you won't be disappointed! As always, Levitation Syrah is best enjoyed with great food, music, and friends.

The 2021 Syrah Levitation opens with a dark-fruited nose layered with meaty and spicy elements of summer sausage, plum compote, notions of red and black spices and hints of lavender and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is juicy, mineral driven and fresh with elegant umami essence, pure expressions of blackberry skin and dried herbs and a firm tannic edge. The wine concludes with a long-winding and stony finish. It's a fantastic wine that will benefit from being paired with food. - Anthony Mueller (May, 2023)
